I know the temptation is there to run away and hide but the country needs you all out there doing what you can to stop Trump and the Dems. I imagine there are many places in a Cruz or Rubio administration for Rand Paul to exert some influence and start helping turn the ship around. Not saying we need a Secretary of State Paul but there are plenty of places where he could have a positive impact.

The PTB warned him he may lose his Senate seat.(won't be in the news) He has suspended his campaign to work on keeping his senate seat. He is on all 50 ballots for pres. primaries so most of us were shocked. If you remember your history John McCain suspended his campaign in 2008. Then ended up with the Nomination. I doubt that will happen with Paul. But he will be working for all of us as Senator from Kentucky as he always has. Felt like I got kicked in the balls today.

My recollection of history was that the "suspension" was AFTER he was already nominated and was at the time when the Treasury bailout was being worked on. He thought both parties should forget politics and deal with the crisis. The suspension lasted 2 days.
And he has NO chance of losing the Senate seat. He is running against a gay guy. No way will Kentucky elect a gay to the Senate.
He may be more able to influence policy as a Senator than on the Cabinet so maybe he stays as a Senator. (especially if Senate stays as evenly divided as it is now)

" No way will Kentucky elect a gay to the Senate. "
I remember when people said " no way a black liberal,Muslim raised, Gay senator with no experience and no background and no legit birth certificate could ever be POTUS." If someone pumped enough cash in the Kentucky race Paul would lose. Look at that idiot Lindsey Graham in SC?? How does he get elected? Big Bucks.
